After church on August 31, Judy and I drove to Lacombe to join in the celebrating of the 65th wedding anniversary of Evans and Myrtle Carson. Myrtle is my mother's youngest sister. She and Evans Carson were married in Antross, Alberta (a sawmill town that ceased to exist over 50 years ago) on August 27th, 1943. It was a wonderful family occasion. Evans and Myrt have always been willing to travel to family events, and it was nice to be able to reciprocate. They are warm, friendly and kind people, who find a lot of joy in life.

Carson-Ing Wedding August 27, 1943
Evans Carson (son of Cleve & Belle Carson) of Antross. Alberta and Myrtle Ing (daughter of Richard & Louisa Ing) were wed today in a wonderful outdoor wedding ceremony at the Carson home.
Myrtle was wearing a French lace wedding dress, long veil and carried a bouquet of red roses. Her attendants: Violet Ing, Myrtle's sister was her Matron of Honor and Fern Carson, sister of the groom, was her bridesmaid. Both wore long white chiffon dresses.
The groom was resplendent in his army uniform, and his best man, George Buchanan was dressed in a classic brown suit.
The wedding ceremony was performed by Rev. C. A. McEhleran. A reception was held immediately following the service at the homestead.
On Monday, August 29, 1943, Evans left his bride and headed overseas for a three year stint.

I apologize for my main website being inaccessible for three weeks. is the best free webhosting service I have found for my purposes, but this is the second time this has happened in the past year. In both cases, the site re-appeared after I sent them a request.
