I depend upon the Internet for so much, especially when I work in FamilySearch Support. Even the telephone calls are mostly VOIP. So when we got home last Saturday and my Internet connection was down, I immediately contacted my ISP and they ran some tests and said they would need to send a technician. Sunday is mostly church-related activities, so it wasn't much of a problem. But when Monday rolled around I spent time digging potatoes from the garden and looking for other things around the house that needed doing. Tuesday was more of the same. Likewise Wednesday until I left for Edmonton in the afternoon. Thursday the tech was here, ran some tests and replaced the transmitter/receiver module on the satellite dish. Now all is well! Yesterday I spent about 11 hours on FamilySearch Support, doing 7 batches of Indexing, 8 incoming telephone calls for FamilySearch and replying to email messages. It was tiring, but it felt good!

Yes, this has been a very busy time. Andrew and his family were here on Labor Day and he helped me to get my old laptop connected to the home network. Then his baby Alannah was sick and was in the hospital Sept 5-6. On Sept 7 Evelyn had her baby, Arianna Belle Auger, and Judy stayed with Evelyn's family until Monday night. Monday night our friend Marlayne Gwilliam died, after surgery and a lengthy stay in the ICU. Judy is Compassionate Service Leader at church, so she has been busy arranging meals for the family, and then the food for the funeral on Friday. The funeral was gigantic! Despite the fact it was a weekday, the church was filled to capacity. And it was a beautiful service, reflecting the life of a generous and loving woman, who died at the young age of 45. Saturday morning we stopped off at the church to leave some fresh vegetables and a bunting bag at the breakfast (put on for the patrons of the Parkland Food bank). When I got home after our shift at the temple, I discoverd that my satellite internet access was "down". So I am back using dialup until things get fixed. I hope you are having a wonderful week.
