RootsTech Connect 25-27 February 2021

The big annual conference on genealogy and technology is underway on Feb 25-27 at www.rootstech.org  It requires a free registration.

I watched several presentations and I came across this somewhat romanticized but enjoyable account.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sSsfyzTAtu4

The :"Ulster Scots" were descendants of Scots who had immigrated to Ireland in the 1600s.
The half hour video is the story of the Ulster Scots coming to America, and the major roles played by some of their families. (U.S. President James Buchanan is among those mentioned.)

As I watched it, I thought of my Buchanan ancestors coming to Canada in 1847 as Ulster Scots, And I remember using a butter churn like the ones shown in the video, to help my mother make butter on our farm west of Breton, seventy years ago.

Maybe you will find things at RootsTech to share with your families.

Bill
